CapU is a public university. We are fully accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), a US-based accrediting body.
We’re also recognized by British Columbia’s Education Quality Assurance [EQA] designation, which is Canada’s first and only provincial brand of quality for post-secondary education.
This means that your Capilano University credentials will be recognized around the world, whether you’re interested in pursuing graduate studies or employment in Canada or abroad.
It also means you may be eligible to apply for your Post-Graduation Work Permit when you’ve completed your program.
Services & support for international students
The Wong and Trainor Centre for International Experience provides many services for international students. We can help you with admissions, advising, student leadership and mentorship opportunities, study abroad programs and more.
English language programs
Capilano University has an English language program called English for Academic Purposes (EAP). The EAP program will help you improve the English language skills you’ll need to succeed in your studies.

Pathway partner schools
CapU has partnered with eight private English-language schools in Vancouver to accept students into our pathway programs. If you complete English levels at one of our pathway partner schools, you will meet the English language requirement for select programs.

Visiting and exchange students
If you are currently studying outside of Canada and your home university is a partner institution to CapU, you can apply as an Exchange Student.
If you’re studying somewhere that doesn’t have a partner agreement with CapU, and want to experience a semester abroad — or if you’re a recent international high school graduate interested in a gap year experience – you can apply to come to CapU as a visiting student.
