Aurora College Yellowknife / North Slave Campus Accommodations

Yellowknife Campus provides family accommodations to out-of-town students enrolled full-time in studies at the campus.

The 64 units range from bachelor suites to five bedroom apartments. Some of the units are located in the heart of Downtown Yellowknife, while other units are located in the Frame Lake South area. Due to the limited number of units, other conditions may apply when allocating units to students.

Rates are as follows:

  • Bachelor $525.00/month
  • 1 Bedroom $600.00/month
  • 2 bedroom $650.00/month
  • 3, 4, or 5 bedroom $775.00/month

All units are furnished with beds, sofas, table and chairs, etc. There are private washrooms in each unit. This is a secure building with an on-site security guard. Students are required to bring their own bedding, towels, dishes, etc. to set up their unit as a home.

On Yellowknife North Slave Campus, housing is limited and each year a priority list is established by program for housing.

Exception at Yellowknife North Slave (YKNS) Campus: Personal Support Worker students at YKNS campus only are included in Priority 2 along with diploma programs. UCAP – Nursing Pathway students have priority at YKNS Campus after other Diploma students and PSW students (except for BA students). Business Administration students at YKNS campus only have lower priority than other programs in this group
3. Certificate Programs

Exception at YKNS Campus: Personal Support Worker students at YKNS campus only are included in Priority 2 along with diploma programs
4.UCAP and OCAP Programs

Note: If the program of study is offered in the applicant’s home community, they may receive lower priority as per Policy D.05. Nursing Pathway students at YKNS Campus only are included in Priority 2 along with diploma programs.
5. Developmental Studies

Note: If the program of study is offered in the applicant’s home community, they may receive lower priority as per Policy D.05.
6. Short Term Trades Programs

Note: Short term trades students (i.e. less than 4 months) are primarily placed in single student dorms and not provided with family housing.
7. International Students

Note: A limited number of international students may be given early acceptance for single student residence in Inuvik.
